Vail Village

Vail Village is where the resort began in 1962, and it remains the address against which everything else in the valley is measured. The village core is pedestrian, European in scale and rhythm, and busy in the best sense — galleries, tailored boutiques, serious restaurants, and the walk to Gondola One threaded through it all. Mornings here start with skis over a shoulder rather than a car key.

Architecture & housing

Inventory is dominated by condominiums and penthouses within the village core — many in buildings that pair alpine bones with contemporary renovations — along with a small, tightly held set of legacy homes and townhomes on the village edges. Walkability to the gondola is the defining variable, and values track it street by street.

Mountain access

Gondola One rises directly from the village; the in-town bus makes the rest of Vail effortless. Everything that matters is on foot.

Ownership considerations

Village buildings differ widely in association structure, rental posture, and amenity load, and Town of Vail short-term rental rules continue to evolve — each building's current documents and registration status deserve careful reading before an offer.
