Lionshead

Lionshead is Vail's more contemporary face. Extensively redeveloped in the early 2000s around the Arrabelle and Vail Square, it trades the Village's Tyrolean intricacy for a calmer, more open composition — plazas, an ice rink in winter, and direct gondola access without Bridge Street's density.

Architecture & housing

The neighborhood carries much of Vail's newest luxury inventory: full-service residences around Vail Square, penthouses above the gondola, and the West Lionshead corridor — where new projects continue to reshape the market. Buildings here often offer hotel-grade services rarely found in the Village core.

Mountain access

The Eagle Bahn Gondola and Born Free Express rise from the center of Lionshead; Game Creek Bowl and the Ski & Ride School are directly above.

Ownership considerations

Newer buildings mean modern associations and amenity programs — with correspondingly meaningful dues. Rental programs, front-desk arrangements, and West Lionshead's continuing evolution all reward current, building-specific diligence.
