The original address
Quiet eastern base
Golden Peak
Vail's third base area — home of the race arena and Ski & Ride School, with a scarce handful of slopeside residences.
Character
The feel of the place.
Golden Peak is the quietest of Vail's three base areas, better known to racers than to tourists. The Riva Bahn Express rises from here, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail trains on the expanded race arena above, and on a school morning the base fills with fast children in speed suits. It is Vail at its most local and least performative.
Architecture & housing
Residential inventory is genuinely scarce — a small collection of condominiums and rare penthouses within steps of the lift, plus the eastern edge of the Village's townhome stock. When something trades here, it tends to trade quickly and quietly.
Mountain access
The Riva Bahn Express (#6) serves the base; Vail Village and Gondola One are a short walk west along Gore Creek.
Ownership considerations
Scarcity is the story: with so few doors, comparable sales are thin and pricing requires judgment rather than formula. Proximity to the race arena is a feature for some families and a consideration for others during training season.
Rebekah's perspective
From working the market.
I watch Golden Peak for clients who want true slopeside position without Bridge Street energy — it suits owners who measure a property by how it skis, not how it photographs.
